Improving Interiors
GREENGUARD is an internationally recognized product emissions certification and labeling program for manufacturers of low-emitting indoor products, furnishings and materials.
The benefit of GREENGUARD Gold-certified products are recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® v4 Indoor Environmental Quality (EQ) category. In addition to the use of low-emitting materials, EQ also promotes acoustic treatments for quieter, more comfortable interior spaces.
Optimized acoustics, combined with low-emitting products and materials, support your IAQ plans, as well as the newest building codes. More than 400 green building codes, standards, guidelines, procurements policies and rating systems give credit for GREENGUARD Certified products.
Protecting People
High levels of noise, CO2, chemicals, pollutants and contaminants can lead people to lose concentration and become more irritated. The impact of these can extend into even more negative health affects and consequences. Material emissions also can be associated with bad odors and headaches. The people most susceptible to pollutants emitted from building materials are the elderly, people with compromised immune systems and children.
Children breathe in more air and, as a result, are absorbing more chemicals that can be harmful to their growing bodies. Because most children spend the majority of their year inside school buildings, these projects deserve extra attention. The Collaborative for High Performance Schools’ Criteria (CHPS) includes low-emitting materials and GREENGUARD Gold Certified products, such as our stone wool acoustic ceiling tiles.
Wellness and health are integral to both the design and mission of hospitals, medical clinics, senior care facilities and hospices. IAQ and GREENGUARD Gold Certified products help protect the health and safety of the patients and elderly residents within these spaces.
